A blown turbo will generally spew a lot of smoke out the tailpipe, usually with leaking oil or coolant somewhere. Loud popping noises could be coming from a loose downpipe or turbine housing. Definitely check all of your lines and hoses, check your 02 sensors and 02 housing, make sure everything is tight and attached properly.
